CJ has traded crypto since the early altcoin cycles — Bitcoin, Ethereum and a long tail of alts — alongside forex and commodities, principally GBP/USD, gold, crude oil and the S&P 500. That range matters less than what most of the time actually went into.
The bulk of it was spent on MetaTrader. Years of trialling indicators, building and breaking expert advisors, running strategy tests, and debugging why a setup that looked immaculate on a backtest fell apart in live conditions. That experience is the reason this site scores maintenance and transparency as heavily as it does: an abandoned indicator and one whose logic you cannot inspect are the two things most likely to waste your money, and neither shows up in a vendor's marketing.
The underlying interest is data rather than prediction. Squeezing every available signal out of a setup to get the best possible read on what a market might do next — and being honest about how weak that read often is.
Fifteen years of strategy testing is exactly why there are no win rates on this site. Producing an honest one for a hundred third-party tools would take a licence and a standardised harness for each. Anyone publishing them at that scale is repeating marketing copy.
A script abandoned three years ago will behave differently in current conditions, whatever it did when published. That is a lesson from MetaTrader, not a theory.
If you cannot read what a tool does before paying for it, you are buying on trust. That is a legitimate choice, but it is a cost, and the score reflects it.
Open-source community scripts are scored on exactly the same four inputs as $400 suites. Several of them beat the paid products.
